There are support networks / groups available across the county that you can attend and get involved with for additional peer support and to have your voice heard.

Drug and Alcohol Recovery Cafes

The SUN Network run free, regular, no appointments needed, drop-in cafes where you can find lots of information on recovery from drug and alcohol use, chats with others in recovery and enjoy a free tea or coffee on us.

Inclusion Recovery Champions

Inclusion Drug and Alcohol Services offers service users the opportunity to become a trained Recovery Champion. Recovery Champions provide support for anyone who needs it within the Drug and Alcohol services, if you’re interested in becoming one all you have to do is get in touch. If you’re the right person, Inclusion will:

  • match you with a supervisor who can offer you support training and guidance.
  • give you specific tasks to help you on your way.
  • you’ll also get to meet Recovery Champions from other projects.

By becoming a recovery champion, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills in attending training courses and experience in working in the treatment sector. Feeling a sense of reward in contributing your knowledge and experience to other peers in need of support.

  • Providing support and encouragement to people when they first come to Inclusion
  • Ensuring good working relationships between service users, Inclusion and others
  • Acting as a mentor
  • Supporting in group work
  • Providing out of hours support
